In this turbulent economy, communities have had to prioritize what is truly important to our day-to-day lives. A clean and reliable source of water for our citizens and businesses is critical for the prosperity of our communities.
To meet that need, the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System continues to work toward its completion. Understanding this vital need are Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Rep. Tim Walz, and we would like to thank them for their strong support and continued efforts to secure increased funding in the FY11 Budget and beyond. They are constantly working to ensure the federal government contributes its share of the project in a timely manner.
Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa and Lewis & Clark’s member cities and rural water systems already have fully paid their project cost share. Sens. Klobuchar and Franken and Congressman Walz are serving Minnesota well by going back to basics and helping to improve the quality of life for our communities.
