SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The thunderstorm warning for Dickinson, northeastern Osceola, Jackson and southeastern Nobles counties has been extended until 11 p.m.

10:10 p.m. Update

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for northern Dickinson County, Iowa and south central Jackson County, Minnesota to expire at 10:30 p.m.

At 10:05 p.m., meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. This dangerous storm was located 8 miles southwest of Lakefield, or 15 miles east of Worthington, and moving south at 25 miles per hour. The storm will be near Lake Park around 10:25 p.m. and Wahpeton, Okoboji, Spirit Lake and Orleans around 10:30 p.m.

People in those areas are advised to take cover now, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.

Rainfall and darkness will make the tornado difficult to see, so do not wait to see or hear it, but take cover now.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Cottonwood, Jackson and Nobles counties, to expire at 10:15 p.m., as well as a flash flood warning set to expire at 11:30 p.m. for Murray and Pipestone counties.
