Tornado watch canceled for region
12:30 a.m.SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The tornado watch has been canceled for the following counties: In Iowa: Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury. In Minnesota: Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The tornado watch has been canceled for the following counties:
In Iowa: Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury.
In Minnesota: Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock.
The flash flood watch for portions of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota has also been canceled. The area received about half an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall as the storms passed.
12:25 a.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The severe thunderstorm warning for Dickinson County is canceled. The line of storms prompting the warning has moved out of that area.
12 a.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The severe thunderstorm warning for eastern O'Brien and eastern Osceola counties has been canceled. The line of storms prompting the warning has moved out of those areas.
11:45 p.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The severe thunderstorm warning for eastern Jackson County will last until 12:15 a.m. A severe thunderstorm warning has also been issued for Dickinson, eastern O'Brien and eastern Osceola counties in Iowa, which will expire at 12:30 a.m.
11:10 p.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Jackson and Nobles counties, set to expire at 11:45 p.m. tonight.
At 11:06 p.m., meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing destructive winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. These storms were located along a line extending from Fulda to 6 miles northwest of Ocheyedan and moving east at 45 miles per hour.
The storms are expected to hit Heron Lake around 11:20 p.m., Lakefield around 11:30 p.m. and Bergen and Jackson around 11:40 p.m. Okabena and Alpha will also be affected by the storms.
11 p.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Rock and Pipestone counties has been canceled. The line of storms prompting the warning has moved out of those areas.
10:50 p.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Murray, Nobles, eastern Pipestone, western Jackson, and eastern Rock counties, to expire at 11:15 p.m.
At 10:39 p.m., meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, located laong a line extending from six miles west of Camden State Park to Edgerton and moving east at 55 miles per hour.
The storms will be near Marshall around 10:45 p.m., Slayton around 10:55 p.m., Currie around 10:55 p.m. and Fulda, Dovray and Worthington around 11 p.m. Round Lake and Brewster will have the thunderstorms around 11:10 p.m.
10 p.m.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern Lyon County in Iowa and southwestern Pipestone County and western Rock County in Minnesota, set to expire at 10:30 p.m. for Lyon and Rock counties and 10:45 p.m. for Pipestone County.
At 9:44 p.m., the National Weather Service was tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, which were then located along a line extending from Colton to Chancellor and moving east at 40 miles per hour.
The thunderstorms will hit Sioux Falls around 10 p.m. and Larchwood around 10:20 p.m. They will hit Pipestone around 10:30 p.m.
They have shown signs of some weakening recently in the wind signatures, but are still capable of 60 mile per hour winds.
Severe thunderstorms produce damaging wind in excess of 60 miles per hour, destructive hail, deadly lightning, and heavy rain. People are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building and if in a vehicle, should not drive into areas where water covers the road.
This storm has a history of producing damaging wind and people should seek shelter now.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch to be in effect until 4 a.m. Saturday for:
In Iowa: Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury counties.
In Minnesota: Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock counties.
