JACKSON — The Jackson County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday to demolish the 1938 portion of its existing Jackson County Resource Center and build a new 9,500 square foot Human Services building in its place, at the cost of $2.5 million.
The offices in the 1938 portion of the Resource Center will be moved to the 1962 building. During construction, the Human Services department will also be housed in the 1962 building.
The old Human Services building had already been sold, and county employees had to be out of the property by February.
