New street projects begin Monday in Worthington

WORTHINGTON — Pavement work on First Avenue from 10th Street through 11th Street is tentatively scheduled to begin Monday. First Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street will be closed to through traffic. Eleventh Street at First Avenue will also be closed.

Weather permitting and construction proceeding as planned, the work will be completed and normal traffic restored by Sept. 10.

Pavement work on Humiston Avenue at Clary Street is also scheduled to begin Monday. Humiston Avenue from Oxford Street to 14th Street and Clary Street at Humiston Avenue will be closed to through traffic. A detour route of Humiston Avenue will be signed. Humiston Avenue will be open up to Clary Street for local resident traffic only.

Motorists are urged to drive carefully and use the detour route. Weather permitting and construction proceeding as planned, the work should be completed and traffic restored in about 10 days.
