SIBLEY, Iowa — The 10th annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Osceola County is from 5 p.m. Friday to 1:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School track.
The S-O Junior Class will have a concession stand throughout the event. Activities include a 4-H Carnival from 5 to 7 p.m., Mister Twister from 6-7 p.m. and from 8-9 p.m., and Harold Vander Sloot and Art Bosch from 6 to 7 p.m. The opening ceremony begins at 7 p.m., and will feature presentation of the flag, a singing of the National Anthem, invocation, welcome, awards presentation, guest speaker Angelo Torres and the survivor lap.
Entertainment will continue until 9:30 p.m., when the luminaria lighting ceremony begins. Games, laps and music will continue until 1 a.m., followed by the closing ceremony at 1:30 a.m.
Teams participating in this year’s Relay For Life are: Bumble Bees (Eli Jansma), State Farm Insurance, Ma Carol’s Team, First Presbyterian Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Country View Manor, US Bank, Sherry’s Luv Bugs, First Baptist Church, Perry’s Team, Exopack, Beacon of Hope, Sibley State Bank, Ashton St. Mary’s and Osceola Community Hospital.
