MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota Arts & Humanities Council (SMAHC) is seeking people to fill open positions on its board.
Board members help direct the work of SMAHC in supporting artists and arts organizations in the region through grants, workshops and technical support. Each of the 18 counties in the SMAHC region has one voting representative on the Board of Directors, which meets the fourth Monday evening of the month to make policy and management decisions and to share ideas and information. The positions are not paid, but travel expenses are reimbursed.
Three positions need to be filled immediately — a two-year term in Cottonwood County, a two-year term in Lincoln County and a one-year term in Murray County.
Additionally, three-year terms beginning in 2011 need to be filled for Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lyon, Meeker and Yellow Medicine counties.
The application can be downloaded at www.smahc.org/board.html and the deadline is Sept. 1.
