First Avenue street work under way

WORTHINGTON — Pavement work on First Avenue at 16th Street was tentatively scheduled to begin Wednesday.

WORTHINGTON — Pavement work on First Avenue at 16th Street was tentatively scheduled to begin Wednesday.

First Avenue will be open to through traffic, but there will be brief intermittent traffic interruptions along with restricted driving lanes and parking. Sixteenth Street at First Avenue will be closed.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed, watch for construction equipment and drive carefully in the construction zone. Weather permitting and construction proceeding as planned, a majority of the work will be completed and normal traffic restored in early September.
