Update: Name released in fatal accident near Adrian

ADRIAN — Todd Wold, 48, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was killed Thursday night after a head-on collision near the rest stop in Adrian on I-90. According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), Wold was driving against traffic when the crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m.

The report states Wold was driving a 1997 Lincoln Towncar west on an eastbound lane and hit a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 16-year-old Brandon Berglund of Adrian.

Adrian Fire and Rescue were called to the scene, as was an air ambulance.

Berglund was treated and released.

It is unknown whether Wold was wearing his seatbelt or if alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Fatal accident occurs near Adrian

ADRIAN — The name of a person killed in a fatal accident near Adrian Thursday night is expected to be released by the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) later today.

According to information made available shortly before 5 a.m. by MSP, a head-on collision took place between two vehicles on I-90 near the Adrian rest area around 10:48 p.m. The report states a 1997 Lincoln Towncar driving west on an eastbound lane hit a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, driven by a 16-year-old Brandon Berglund of Adrian.

Adrian Fire and Rescue were called to the scene, as was an air ambulance.

The teen was treated and released, but the driver of the Lincoln was pronounced dead.
