Letter: Democrats aren't listening to Americans

Why are Democrats running from Nancy Pelosi? Why are Democrats distancing themselves from their party leadership? The answer, of course, is because they listened to them and not the American people.

Why are Democrats running from Nancy Pelosi? Why are Democrats distancing themselves from their party leadership? The answer, of course, is because they listened to them and not the American people. Somehow they think that by putting the blame on Pelosi, they are off the hook for their actions. They now see the error of their way and somehow think that distancing themselves from Pelosi and other Democratic leadership is the right thing to do.

Tennessee congressional candidate Brett Carter is asking Nancy Pelosi to step down. Why? Can these Democratic congressmen not stand up and take responsibility for their actions? They followed her lead instead of their constituents back home. That is also true of our own congressman, Tim Walz. He voted for Obamacare and cap and trade right along with Pelosi.

We need to elect representatives at all levels who will actually listen to the voters instead of party leadership. The Preamble of the Constitution starts out “We the People.” Yes, we the people, not we the Congress or we the party leadership.

I urge you in this election cycle to vote for the ones you believe who will stand up for us. And then, in the next election, oust those who failed us.

We must stop the nonsense at all levels of government and hold those we put into office accountable. No more dishonesty, no more lack of integrity, no more following leadership blindly, no more out of control spending, no more pork — and you fill in the rest.
