WINDOM — A warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old Mountain Lake woman accused of selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant in April.
A criminal complaint/warrant signed earlier this week authorizes law enforcement to apprehend Carissa Elizabeth Carrison on charges of second-degree controlled substance sale, conspiracy and aiding and abetting in the sale of methamphetamine.
The informant (CI) contacted law enforcement in April after arranging to buy an 8-ball of ice — 3.5 grams of meth — for $500 from Carrison. The CI said Carrison was getting the meth from a man in Delft and the sale was to occur at the CI’s resident in Windom.
The CI called the deputy when Carrison allegedly arrived at the residence, and the deputy drove by to verify. He saw a black Chevrolet Tahoe with a male in the driver’s seat he recognized as Adam William Gordon.
The deputy met with the CI after the transaction was completed and was handed a baggie containing a substance that tested positive for meth and weighed 3.7 grams.
The CI showed the deputy a text message from Carrison that stated, “Did they still want B (8-ball)?”
“Rite, we will be there soon,” another stated. “Hope you are not a cop. I have a baby and that’s a lot of dope … I can trust u.”
An administrative subpoena was issued for Carrison’s cell phone, and the results showed communication between Carrison and the CI.
On April 24, the deputy assisted the Windom Police Department with a welfare check. Gordon was in the residence and taken to the sheriff’s office for a urine test. Gordon tested positive for meth, and during a patdown officers located a large bundle of $50 bills in his pocket. He is currently on probation after a felony conviction for domestic assault in 2005, was convicted of felony-level domestic assault in 2009 and just pleaded guilty to another on Monday.
