Obituary: Louise Mulder

Louise Clara Mulder, age 98, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born August 12, 1912, on the farm in Lyon County, IA, to Conrad and Tena (Jurrens) Bauman. She attended country school in rural Lyon County, IA.

Louise Clara Mulder, age 98, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born August 12, 1912, on the farm in Lyon County, IA, to Conrad and Tena (Jurrens) Bauman. She attended country school in rural Lyon County, IA.

Louise married Hildebrand “H.H.” Mulder on January 19, 1933, at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Lyon County for ten years, before moving to a farm one half mile west of Ellsworth in 1943. They retired and moved into Ellsworth in 1980.

She was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth; the Ladies P.W.; and the Ellsworth Senior Citizens. Louise enjoyed bowling, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins Baseball games & the Ellsworth Panthers basketball games.

Louise is survived by her two children, Marlene (Glenn) Meester, Ellsworth; and Ardeen (Cindy) Mulder, Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Drenth, Ellsworth; and Rachel Untiedt, Luverne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.H. on October 10, 1995; an infant son; sister, Harriet (Lloyd) Untiedt; and a brother, Lawrence (Pearl) Bauman.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth, officiated by Rev. David Poppen. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, is in charge of arrangements.
