Soldier’s body arrived Thursday

WILLMAR— The body of Army Pfc. Ryane Clark arrived Thursday at Willmar Municipal Airport.

WILLMAR— The body of Army Pfc. Ryane Clark arrived Thursday at Willmar Municipal Airport.

Clark died Oct. 4 while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. According to the Department of Defense, he died in Shekhabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.

A procession escorting Clark’s body left the airport and traveled through Willmar and Spicer on its way to New London.

Clark’s visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the New London-Spicer High School. His funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday in high school gymnasium.
