Poppema hired at Minnesota West

WORTHINGTON — Ted Poppema has been hired in the general maintenance position on the Worthington campus of Minnesota West Community and Technical College.

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Integration Collaborative will host the following events this month:

Fulda Parents Advocating for Student Success (PASS) classes, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Fulda High School Library.

ACT prep session, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:45 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, NCIC, West Learning Center, Worthington.

The Banquet Service Learning Trip, 1 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sioux Falls, S.D.

MHS offers field trip funding

ST. PAUL —Minnesota schools where 25 percent or more of students qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program are eligible for field trip funding through the Minnesota Historical Society Legacy Field Trip Support Fund.

The fund helps offset transportation costs to and from any of the society’s 26 museums and historic sites.

Discus award winner named

MITCHELL, S.D. — Mariah Nelson, Mitchell Christian High School, has been recognized as a 2010-2011 Discus Award winner for her achievements in the areas of Faith, Community Service, and Athletics.

She is the granddaughter of Joan and Myron Nelson, Okabena.
