PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Ysker leads Windom to SWC sweep of Cardinals

Ysker led the team with 22 kills and five service aces to propel the Eagles to a sweep over Redwood Valley in Tuesday night’s volleyball match.
Game scores were 26-24, 25-16 and 25-19.
Ysker also had 11 digs, tying with Amber Sebring for team high.
Kaitlin Markl had a standout service night, going 18-for-19 from the line with three aces, and also contributed 12 set assists. Abby Hayenga led the team with 22 set assists.
The Eagles (21-5, 5-1) end their conference schedule in second place behind Jackson County Central. They next play on Thursday at Martin County West.
Edgerton 3, R-T-R 0
EDGERTON — McKenzie Pick’s barrage of nine service aces led Edgerton to a sweep over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in a non-conference matchup.
Game scores were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-16.
Pick accumulated 22 service points in the victory, and also tied Megan Timmer with a team-high six digs.
Racheal Steffl led the Flying Dutchmen with seven kills, and Jessica Menning led with 13 set assists.
Edgerton (4-23-1) will play at Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Monday in the first round of the playoffs.
H-BC 3, MLC 0
WINDOM — A slew of service aces from multiple servers sparked Hills-Beaver Creek to a sweep over Mountain Lake Christian on Tuesday.
Game scores were 25-18, 25-14 and 25-4.
Jayme Plimpton (16-for-18 serving) and Meghan Leuthold (12-for-13 serving) each contributed five service aces for the Patriots, and Taylor Vaughn (9-for-10 serving) added three of her own.
Santana Wysong led the team with eight kills, followed by Natalie Stueven with five.
The Patriots (7-15) open their playoff campaign on Monday at Fulda.
