Letter: Thanks for the Honor Flight memories

I recently participated in the Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight. It was a wonderful experience, one that I will never forget. I just wanted to let you and everyone involved know how thankful I am for the opportunity to go on the flight.

I appreciate people in the area who donated money and held fundraisers to make it possible for us veterans to go on the flight. We are all so grateful to those who planned the trip, and those who went along to help. The caregivers and guardians took such good care of us! Any veteran who is worried about going on the trip should not worry — they will take care of you.

The organization was tremendous.

The letters from the children and the hugs and greetings from kids and adults — it was just great. From the drivers to the pilots, the monument staff and hotel staff, everything was wonderful.

I am afraid to begin to list names and organizations, as I am afraid I will miss someone. I should give special thanks to the Daily Globe for what it did for veterans before, during and after Honor Flight.

It does so much good to have this opportunity and the veterans appreciated it, every last one of us.

It will be something we never, ever forget.
