Volunteers (from left) Joyce Klosterbuer, Gary Hietbrink, Al Brueggeman, Bob Paplow, Merle Klosterbuer, Don Kuiper and Larry Rogers load up a semi trailer with boxes for Operation Christmas Child Monday afternoon at the American Reformed Church in Worthington. Locally, more than 2,200 shoebox gifts were collected for the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, which distributes them to needy children. Last year, 8 million children in countries around the world received such gifts. American Reformed Church serves as a regional collection center for the project.
