SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A winter weather advisory has been issued for 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, for Murray, Cottonwood, Nobles, Jackson, Pipestone and Rock counties, as well as Lyon County and other parts of the Tri-state area.

Freezing drizzle is expected to develop Wednesday morning after daybreak, becoming widespread by noon. The freezing drizzle will become mixed with freezing rain, sleet and snow before decreasing Wednesday evening.

Ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch and snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected.

Visibility may decrease to a mile or less at times in the freezing drizzle, mixed precipitation and fog. Strong northwest winds will develop after the advisory period.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of freezing drizzle, possibly mixed with snow or sleet, will cause travel difficulties. People should prepare for slippery roads and limited visibility, use caution while driving and continue to monitor weather conditions.
