Letter: Helping the Red Cross is rewarding
Do you find yourself having the desire to try something new? Do you want to help others?By: Dist. 22B Rep. Rod Hamilton, R-Mountain Lake, Worthington Daily Globe
Do you find yourself having the desire to try something new? Do you want to help others?
Then might I suggest volunteering for the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross responds to large and small emergencies every day, and is always in need of volunteers. It can match your abilities with your available schedule — be it a one-time project, a short term assignment, or a long-term commitment. You’ll also be sure to make new friends and potentially learn new skills, all while helping others.
Volunteers come from all walks of life and from every age group. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the American Red Cross, call the Volunteer Resources Department at (507) 387-6664. All new volunteers are required to complete a background check and attend a volunteer orientation.
For an extremely rewarding endeavor, I strongly encourage you to contact the Red Cross and explore volunteering opportunities. It’s an experience that will last a lifetime.
