Letter: A challenge to Minnesota's new governor

Governor-elect Mark Dayton should think outside the box and simply do as corporate America has done for decades.

By: Alan Roebke, Alexandria, Worthington Daily Globe

Governor-elect Mark Dayton should think outside the box and simply do as corporate America has done for decades. Here’s some advice: Address a failed business model by bringing in an individual of substance to balance the books and move forward, with you directing the changes.

The individual I can deliver will immediately give you $100 million in new revenue in 2011 and be a model for all governors to follow nationally. Plus, this individual will allow you to call the president and immediately deliver $600 million for federal deficit reduction in early January and much more.

This individual will also show you how to tax the rich in Minnesota without a mass exodus of jobs and talent, yet put a real burden of responsibly on all citizens of Minnesota — as sound government policy should. Let’s modernize Minnesota’s government and re-establish our lost legislative process.
