WORTHINGTON — Ten different relay teams finished first, leading the YMCA Stingray swim team in a meet with Spencer and LeMars last week.
Another five relays were second for the Stingrays over the two Iowa towns.
“The meet was well attended by swimmers that have been enjoying their Christmas vacations,” Stingray head coach Donna Damm said. “Spencer and LeMars Iowa were the guests of the Stingrays and brought a total of 42 swimmers. The Stingrays had 39 swimmers in attendance with 31 of the Stingrays showing improvement in one or more of their events.
“It is an unusual event to have a meet in the middle of the week since hosting requires a large number of workers to assist. The Stingray parents really did a great job along with additional family members visiting for the holidays and former Stingray swimmers Dave Sorensen and Kari Engelkes who acted as clerks for the event.”
