Letter: Letter written well, but not entirely correct

After reading Ron Kueker’s well-written opinion concerning the issue of late-season pheasant hunting, I feel compelled to make an important point.

Ron points out that he feels that Scott Rall was wrong to tell hunters to “spend your time in cattails the last 30 minutes of shooting.” He also notes that the Minnesota DNR is wrong for not doing an emergency closing of the pheasant season in a year like this, and finally that Pheasants Forever is wrong for having a Jan. 2 contest to see who can hunt down and bring in the longest rooster tail.

I value Ron Kueker’s opinion, but want to point out that the event in question is sponsored by the Sports Page in Adrian in conjunction with the Nobles and Rock County Pheasants Forever chapters.

To say that “Pheasants Forever is wrong” as a blanket statement is not correct.
