WINDOM — A rural Windom man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he slipped on snow and ice and became entangled in a power takeoff driveshaft.
WINDOM — A rural Windom man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he slipped on snow and ice and became entangled in a power takeoff (PTO) driveshaft.
Douglas Edward Soleta, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene on 440th Avenue in Great Bend Township, Cottonwood County. He was reportedly taking corn out of a bin and loading it into a semi when he slipped and became entangled in the PTO.
Responding to the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Windom Fire and Rescue and the Windom Ambulance.
Soleta’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Windom.
