ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two-vehicle collision with no apparent injuries at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South Tama Street and First Avenue. Timothy Plum, 39, of Harrisburg, S.D., was driv-ing a 1994 Chrysler Concorde eastbound on First Avenue. Alexander Kosters, 19, of Rock Rapids, was driving a 2000 Buick Regal westbound and making a left turn onto South Tama St. when he struck Plum in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Plum’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,000 in damage and Kosters’ vehicle sustained approximately $1,000 in damage.

INWOOD, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two-vehicle collision with no apparent injuries at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Tami Johnson, 39, of Inwood, was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix east and stopped at the stop sign on Garfield Street and Main Street. Blade Baatz, 18, of Inwood, was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus north on Main Street. Johnson continued from the stop sign and struck Baatz’s vehicle in the left rear side. Johnson’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,800 in damage, and Baatz’s Ford received approximately $900 in damage.

WILMONT — The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a vehicle collision with no apparent injuries at 1:28 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Fifth Street.

SIBLEY, Iowa — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a vehicle collision with no apparent injuries at 4:05 p.m. Thursday on Second Street. Elaine Van Westen, 65, of Sibley, was driving a 2002 Buick Century westbound on Second Street east of Third Avenue. Ann Strouth, 29, of Sibley, was driving a 1997 Pontiac Transport westbound on Sec-onde Street, following Van Westen. Strouth did not see VanWesten signal to make a right turn into a residential driveway due to the glare of the sun, which caused a collision on the road. Van Westen’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,000 in dam-age. Strouth’s vehicle sustained approximately $550 in damage.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was paged at 7:18 p.m. Thursday to 520 Humiston Ave.

Fire

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Fire Department was paged at 1:51 p.m. Thursday to 949 Diagonal Rd. in response to a fire alarm.
