Master Gardener program Feb. 12

WORTHINGTON — The University of Minnesota will host a continuing education opportunity and meeting for Master Gardeners from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Government Center, 315 10th St., Worthington. (Use the 10th Street entrance.)

WORTHINGTON — The University of Minnesota will host a continuing education opportunity and meeting for Master Gardeners from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Government Center, 315 10th St., Worthington. (Use the 10th Street entrance.)

The day begins with a 9:30 a.m. program on the Junior Master Gardener Program. There will be an overview of the program and materials, as well as hands-on activities to get you started working with a youth gardening program.

Following lunch, there will be discussion about MG programs in southwest Minnesota, on the status and needs of county programs, and conversation about possible collaboration or opportunities to strengthen the Master Gardener program. The afternoon session includes continuing education training on diagnostic skill building for Master Gardeners.
