Brenda Hofer scored 15 points in the opening round of the District 1A girls’ basketball tournament Thursday night, leading Central Lyon to a 59-29 victory against Trinity Christian.
Lexi Ackerman added 11 points and six steals for the Lions (17-5), who led 25-10 at halftime and 42-17 at the end of the third quarter.
Kelsey Ackerman added seven rebounds for CL, which will host George-Little Rock on Tuesday.

GEORGE, Iowa — Jessah Fiedler scored 16 points, pulled down five rebounds and had three steals, leading George-Little Rock to an opening-round victory.
Sarah Kruse added 12 points and three assists for the Mustangs (13-8), who led 26-18 at halftime.
Emma Heitritter scored 14 points to lead the Comets.
G-LR will face Central Lyon on Tuesday in the second round.

LAKE PARK, Iowa — Lydia Brandt and Mariah Gath combined for 24 points as Harris-Lake Park defeated Armstrong-Ringsted.
Brandt scored 12 points and had eight rebounds, while Gath added 12 points.
Anna Brandt had seven steals and seven assists for the Wolves (13-7).
The Wolves will travel to face North Sentral Kossuth, who defeated Graettinger-Terril 64-19, on Tuesday.

OKABENA — Jennifer Schmidt scored 18 first-half points as the Quasars handed Luverne a non-conference loss.
Schmidt finished with a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Connor DeWall had 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Katey Granstra added seven points, 14 rebounds and four assists for the Quasars, who led 31-20 at halftime.
Arianna Hesemann scored 11 points while Courtney Place had six points and three assists for SSC, which will travel to Round Lake-Brewster tonight.
Megan Petersen scored 11 points to lead Luverne, while Kaitlin Wohnoutka had nine points. Katlyn Sawtelle added eight points for the Cardinals, who host Redwood Valley tonight.

Cassandra Erickson added seven rebounds for the Falcons (4-14), who will host Westbrook-Walnut Grove tonight.
