PREP BASKETBALL: G-LR advances in Iowa tournament

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — Jessah Fiedler scored 13 points and Karlee Stubbe contributed 11 more as George-Little Rock earned a 50-39 victory over rival Central Lyon in a Iowa Class 1A, District 1 quarterfinal round game Tuesday night.

Lexi Ackerman played a fine all-around game for the Lions, as she scored 20 points to go along with four steals and a pair of assists.

Brenda Hofer contributed eight points and a team-leading five steals for the Lions, who finish their season with a 17-6 overall record.

The Mustangs (15-8) advance to play Marcus-Meriden Cleghorn in the semifinals at Orange City Friday.
