Letter: Digital mammography piece needs clarification

I would like to clarify a comment made by reporter Brittany Workman in the Feb. 3 front-page article (“SWMC receives $585K grant”). It reads, “Digital mammography is currently offered on a mobile basis, with screening mammograms being the only local option for patients.”

An article on the the Jan. 31 Daily Globe front page “Digital mammography reaches Worthington”) states the digital mammography has been offered since last year at the Avera Specialty Clinic in Worthington. Please be careful what you report, as it is misguiding the community and surrounding areas.

The local Avera clinic has had in-house mammograms for decades. Thank you for correcting the facts.
