Fatal crash reported in Slayton

SLAYTON — Slayton man Luke D. Beers, 30, was killed Tuesday in a crash on the outskirts of that city at approximately 12:35 p.m., according to information released by the Minnesota State Patrol.
The news release states Gary Giugler, 69, of Wilmont, driving a 2005 International, was stopped in the eastbound lane of Minnesota 30 and signaling to make a left-hand turn onto Erlandson Avenue when his truck was rear-ended by a 1993 International conventional cab truck driven by Beers, who was eastbound.
Funeral arrangements are currently pending. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Beers was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Giugler had no apparent injuries, the release states, and was wearing his seatbelt when the crash occurred.
