Murray County SWCD gets grant

MANKATO — The AgStar Fund for Rural America, a corporate giving program of AgStar Financial Services, is proud to announce its 2011 grant recipients. This year, AgStar received a record number of grants. Overall, AgStar awarded $91,000 to a total of 22 organizations.

Regionally, the Murray County Soil and Water Conversation District received a grant for $2,500 for emerald ash borer research.

Each year, from October through the end of November, the AgStar Fund for Rural America accepts grant applications for up to $10,000. The grant funding is to be used for specific causes in one of four focus areas for the Fund including: Education, Environment, Technology or Quality of Life. Grant money is used for project or program support, technical assistance, general operating support or equipment.
