I can’t believe the comments from commissioners Thier and Leistico regarding Midway Park in Wednesday’s Daily Globe.

To say that “the park doesn’t get used at all” is an absolute joke. My son and I fished there a minimum of 20 times last summer and there were very few times that there wasn’t someone else already fishing there. I’m sure that there have been beer parties and kids messing around out there when they shouldn’t, but please don’t take one of the few good fishing spots in the Adrian area away from the public.

Aside from the property tax part, what are the big expenses? I understand the county needs to make cuts, but you have little to no upkeep of the place — and that’s just fine for us who enjoy the outdoors and don’t need fancy campgrounds, picnic tables etc. to keep us happy.
