I believe that the Worthington City Council needs to stop granting temporary liquor licenses for everything that comes along.
During the March 28 council meeting, Worthington Regional Economic Development asked permission to serve wine at Memorial Auditorium for an event. Every time this happens, whether at a beer garden for Turkey Day, Regatta etc., it takes business away from established businesses that employ people all year long. The American Legion has had to close — what’s next?
If they want to serve alcohol at different events, it should be catered by someone who has a liquor license, has had alcohol compliance training, and pays taxes and supports many families all year long. If you agree, please contact your council member.
