Thank you for the interesting article about my friend Wig Turner (March 18). It’s so funny that you can know someone for over 60 years (Wig married my second-grade teacher, Wanda Dovery) and not know anything of what you printed. It seems that many WWII vets just don’t like to talk about it.

I think it is wonderful how the Daily Globe is bringing forth these stories. You featured another of my good friends a while back, Ray Gorgen from Slayton.
