SIBLEY, Iowa — A Sibley, Iowa woman accused of theft from her place of employment is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
Darcy Lea Martinez, 45, is charged with first- and second-degree theft charges after allegedly submitting false payroll claims in excess of $10,000 and using a debit card to make personal purchases in excess of $2,000 from her place of employment, the Country View Manor in Sibley.
Martinez was arrested Tuesday, and was released on bond the same day.
According to court documents, between June 2009 and December 2010, Martinez allegedly misappropriated a debit card, which was in her control.
Between October 2008 and December 31, 2010, she allegedly submitted false payroll claims.
She was terminated from her position in January after the bookkeeper at her place of employment found the excesses in the payroll.
