SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — An Arnolds Park man has been charged with several drug-related offenses as the result of a Thursday traffic stop.
The Spirit Lake Police Department stopped a 2011 Chevrolet Impala driven by James Daulton Long, 29, of Arnolds Park. Long was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant and for driving with a barred and suspended Iowa driver’s license. In a subsequent investigation, the police recovered approximately 240 grams of a substance believed to be Psilocybin (illegal mushrooms), 130 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.
Long was booked into the Dickinson County Jail and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, (Psilocybin), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), two counts of failure to affix drug tax stamp, prohibited acts, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, driving while barred and driving while suspended.
The Spirit Lake Police Department also seized more than $1,000 in cash that was in Long’s possession.
