Letter: Honor Flight a 'mountaintop experience'

This letter from an Iowa veteran, son of Danish immigrant parents, will not be adequate to express my appreciation for being invited to join the Southwest Minnesota veteran’s trip to our nation’s capital. I’ll just copy my brother’s expression to convey thanks — “This is a mountaintop experience!”
I confess to wearing my wrap-around dark glasses more than once to hide the emotion created by the sincere, smiling greetings. Since I have run out of American “thank yous,” I’m adding a Danish thanks! “Ti Tisand Tak!” (10,000 thanks!) Never have we seen so many smiles as the caregivers kept us absolutely, completely satisfied — even encouraging us to be pushed for long rides in the wheelchairs!
The citizens of Luverne can be very proud of their accomplishments in showering World War II vets with loving kindness.
