SLAYTON — The Prairie Oasis Players will host auditions from 7 to 8:30 a.m. June 1 and June 3 at the Murray County Central auditorium for a production of the melodrama “Wagon Wheels a-Rollin.”

The show will be presented July 7, 8 and 9 during Slayton’s Days of ’87 Festival.

POP is not only looking for actors — they need behind the scenes people for props, costuming, lighting, etc.

“Wagon Wheels a-Rollin” is a fast-paced spoof of the Old West, filled with a cast of hilarious characters who range from hero Chuck Wagon to heroine Candy Cane to villain Smiling Slade Clagget. The play features a large cast of both young and old, so POP encourages actors of all ages to audition.
