Letter: Regatta was an excellent community event

I want to say thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and those who showed up to support the 2011 Regatta and Unvarnished Music Festival.

I want to say thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and those who showed up to support the 2011 Regatta and Unvarnished Music Festival — in particular the Daily Globe’s overarching influence of promoting the event, running feature stories, hosting a tent and dedicating staff time help make for a successful weekend.

My hat equally goes off to the long list of individual volunteers who put in countless hours and pulled together to showcase our community. This and other festivals are critical to the quality of life for Worthington residents and for those who come to town to enjoy this fun event.

Worthington shined this last weekend despite a little rain and calm winds on the shores of Lake Okabena!
