The Prairie Fire 18-and-Under volleyball team went undefeated in the second day of the recent Star of the North tournament to claim the championship of the silver bracket in the C division featuring 28 teams.

The team, composed of select area athletes from seven different schools, was recently organized and only had four practices before traveling to the statewide tournament.

Following two rounds of highly competitive pool play, teams were placed in gold, silver, bronze or iron single elimination brackets and Prairie Fire was seeded sixth in the silver playoff. The local area team continued to gel as the tournament progressed and blew through the brackets in dominant fashion without losing a set.
