Southwest Minnesota Radiation Center has new name

WORTHINGTON — Southwest Minnesota Radiation Center is now Sanford Cancer Center. Open since 2007, Southwest Minnesota Radiation Center is a member of the Sanford Health Network. The name change signifies an operational change to formally align the operation to the same level of quality guidelines and standards used in caring for cancer patients across the entire Sanford footprint.

“Southwest Minnesota Radiation Center has a long -standing relationship with Sanford Cancer Center in Sioux Falls,” said Lynn Olson, CEO, Sanford Worthington. “The name change to Sanford Cancer Center makes this alignment easily recognizable to our patients and the public.”

The Sanford Cancer Center is a partnership of Murray County Medical Center, Sanford Jackson, Sanford Tracy, Sanford Westbrook, Sanford Worthington and Windom Area Hospital.

The Worthington location of Sanford Cancer Center provides radiation treatments to patients in the southwest Minnesota region. Sanford Cancer Center is under the direction of H. Jae Yoon, M.D., the facility’s radiation oncologist.

“I’m very excited to solidify our relationship with the Sanford Cancer Center of Excellence,” said Yoon. “We have partnered with the Sanford Cancer Center in Sioux Falls for many years. Our new name not only showcases our alignment with their services, but with Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND and Sanford Cancer at Sanford Clinic Bemidji in Minnesota as well.”
