LEGION BASEBALL: Marshall’s big innings thwart Okabena

MARSHALL — Marshall put together three deadly innings to earn a 12-2 legion baseball victory against Okabena on Thursday.

MARSHALL — Marshall put together three deadly innings to earn a 12-2 legion baseball victory against Okabena on Thursday.

Marshall scored three runs in the second and fourth innings and six runs in the third.

Jacob Post (2 1/3 innings pitched, eight hits, five earned runs) started for Okabena. He was relieved by Luke Henkels (1 1/3 innings pitched, four earned runs, three hits) and Alex Olsem (two innings pitched, one hit, no runs).

Alex Meyer led the Okabena attack by going 2-for-4 with two triples, an RBI and a run scored. Henkels was 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, Post was 1-for-3 and Austin Droll was also 1-for-3.

Okabena (4-9) plays at Edgerton today.
