Blood drives set in Cottonwood County

WINDOM — To help meet the constant need for blood, the American Red Cross has scheduled upcoming blood drives in Cottonwood County.

WINDOM — To help meet the constant need for blood, the American Red Cross has scheduled upcoming blood drives in Cottonwood County.

While all blood types are need to maintain a sufficient blood supply, right now there is a special need for types O negative, B negative and A negative blood donors. Rh negative blood types are always in high demand.

Upcoming blood donations opportunities will be: 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 19 at the Windom Community Center, 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive, Windom; 2 to 7 p.m. July 20, Mountain Lake Community Center, 1027 Second Ave., Mountain Lake; 2 to 6 p.m. July 26, Westbrook Community Center, 510 Fifth St., Westbrook.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with signed parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health may be eligible to donate blood.
