Obituary: Richard Stubbe
Richard James Stubbe, of Worthington MN, was born on September 16, 1922 in West Side Township, Nobles County, to parents George and Sena Wietsema Stubbe.

He graduated from school in Lewiston, MN.
Richard married Berneva Krick on February 3, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington.
He participated in the CCs with the soil conservation service in Lewiston.
He then served with the 316th engineer maintenance company as a staff sergeant in World War II in the Asian Pacific Theater in the invasion of the Philippines and later in Japan.
He was honorably discharged on January 9, 1946.
He received numerous medals including Good Conduct medal, American Campaign medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal with three bronze service stars, WW II victory medal, Philippine liberation ribbon with one bronze service star, and honorable label button WW II.
He then worked 24 years for Hudson Brothers and then as a grounds keeper for District 518 until he retired.
Richard died on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN.
He was active in the VFW and American Legion in Worthington.
Richard belonged to St. Mary's church where he ushered and was active in the Knights of Columbus.
Richard is survived by four children, Keith Stubbe and Kristine Evenson of Round Lake, MN, Kristine Stubbe of Worthington, MN, Kathleen and her husband, James Evers of Millville, MN, and Kolleen Stubbe of Worthington, MN; six grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor McGee and Roselyn Klabunder, and one sister-in-law, Annabelle Stubbe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Jim Callahan officiating.
Eric and Tomas Stubbe, Byron, Bridget and Brianna Evers, Francis Meier, Gary Meier and Brad Schultz will serve as casket bearers.
Brandon Evers will serve as honorary casket bearer.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Worthington.
Family prefers memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
