Rock County Fair begins today in Luverne

LUVERNE — The Rock County Fair officially gets under way today in Luverne, with open class entry from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. and 4-H judging for Cloverbuds, foods, gardening and club exhibits. The 4-H Poultry Show is on tap for 6 p.m. today, with the Rabbit Show to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Commercial exhibit buildings will be open from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with the Floral Hall building open at 10 a.m. daily beginning Thursday. Mad Jax Inc. is on the Midway from 6 p.m. to midnight Thursday; and from 1 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Advance ride tickets are available at Glen’s Food Center, Luverne Area Chamber of Commerce, Rauk’s Hilltop Stop Beaver Creek and the Luverne Pizza Ranch.

Thursday

8 a.m.: 4-H Swine Show

10:30 a.m.: 4-H Dairy Show

1:30 p.m.: 4-H Goat Show

3 p.m.: 4-H Sheep Show

5:30 p.m. Beef Feed (prepared by the Rock Nobles Cattlemen’s Association)

6:30 p.m.: 4-H Dog Exhibition Show

7 p.m.: Rock County Talent Contest (sponsored by Sioux Valley Energy)

Friday

8 a.m.: 4-H Beef Show

10 am.: 4-H Horse Training

10:30 a.m.: 4-H Horse Pleasure Show

2:30 p.m.: Senior Citizens Day Program

4 to 7 p.m.: Free Nitrate Testing by Rock County Land Management

5 p.m.: 4-H Pet Show

5:30 p.m.: Pork Feed (Prepared by the Rock County Pork Producers Association)

6:30 p.m.: Ranch Rodeo (hosted by Good Samaritan Society-Mary Jane Brown & Rock River Wranglers)

Saturday

9 a.m.: 4-H Livestock Auction

11 a.m.: 4-H Horse Games Show

4 p.m.: 4-H Premier Showmanship

5 p.m.: Friends of 4-H Showmanship

6 p.m.: 4-H Parade of Champions

7 p.m.: Bio Fuels Enduro Race (sponsored by the Rock County Corn & Soybean Assn. and Agri-Energy, LLC)

7:30 p.m.: 4-H Fashion Revue
