WAITE PARK (AP) — Six employees of a Waite Park company are under observation after a lightning strike near their workplace.

The lightning struck about 10 a.m. Monday near the Hardrives Inc. Redi-Mix and pre-cast concrete facility.

Hardrives safety coordinator Brian Knutson told KNSI-AM it's unclear exactly where the lightning hit, but it was close enough to shock and frighten six workers inside the company's building.

Knutson says apparently no one was seriously injured, but the six were being taken to a hospital for an examination as a precaution.

Hardrives is a government, commercial and residential paving contractor that does highway construction and repair as well as other paving work.
