WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A Waterloo woman has pleaded guilty to charges she drove over a curb and struck a child in a baby stroller.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier is reporting that 22-year-old Tiffany Sykes pleaded guilty Monday to going armed with intent and leaving the scene of an accident.
The charges were the result of a May 31 incident in which police say Sykes had been in a fight with several people before getting in her car and driving at them. Police say she drove over the curb several times before striking the stroller. She fled the scene but later turned herself in to police.
The child was taken to a hospital for observation.
Sykes faces up to five years in prison. Sentencing is set for Sept. 8.
