It has already been a month since I arrived here in Germany, and it feels like I just got here. In the first month here I have seen and done so many things.

My first week here I stayed busy with the “Amazing” Worthington City Band. I was very grateful to be able to borrow an alto sax so I could play with the band at the Johannes Church and also at the outdoor concert in front of the City Hall. During the days, I had the opportunity to travel to various places with the band. I got to go to Rothenburg, Munich, Dachau, Neuschwanstein and Aalen. The evening before the band left, the city of Crailsheim had a farewell party for the band and a welcoming for David and me.

After an exhausting first week, I said goodbye to my friends in the band. Since the band has left I have been on summer break. Although it is summer break, it has been filled with a lot to do! I have enjoyed traveling around the area with the Etzel family to visit their friends and family, along with visiting some of the close family that live in the house next door and down the street.

Coming up in the future, I am most looking forward to going to Switzerland with my family for the first week in September. Shortly after returning, I will start school on Sept. 12.

Greetings to everyone back in America.
