Services: Lavina Schoo

Lavina Schoo, 81, of Ashton, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Surviving is her husband, Noel Schoo, Ashton; six children, James Schoo, Ashton, Kathryn (Douglas) DeGroot, George, Iowa, Donna (Michael) Williams, Spirit Lake, Iowa, Diane (Joe) Poss, Rochester, Robert (Kristil) Schoo, Ashton, and Gerald (Val) Schoo, George; three siblings, Darlene (Lyle) Philliph, Shoreview, Marlyn (Joyce) Lonneman, Spirit Lake, and Bonnie Lonneman, Bloomington; 18 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ashton.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St., Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Vakulskas officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Jurrens Funeral Home, Ashton, is in charge of arrangements.
