In the end, it was the Quasars coming away with the Red Rock Conference victory as the hosts won by game scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 20-25 and 15-13.
Courtney Place led SSC (7-5, 4-0) with 30 digs and 10 kills to go with eight service points on a 16-for-17 night from the service line.
Jordin Elness (16 set assists) also had a nice night serving as she scored nine points on 18-for-19 effort while Alisa Carlson scored seven service points on a 8-for-9 outing.
Mandy Henkels led the Quasars with 21 set assists while Jennifer Schmidt added 10 kills and three blocks.
Autumn Hinkeldey also had three blocks as well as 27 digs for SSC, which plays in a tournament Saturday in St. Peter.
Sydne Springman led Adrian with match-highs of 29 kills and 10 blocks while also adding 21 digs.
Rachel Kontz scored 15 points from the service line for the Dragons and added 16 set assists while Nichole Loosbrock led the team with 20 set assists.
Courtney Vaske finished with 21 digs, 10 kills and seven blocks for Adrian (4-6, 0-4), which hosts Fulda Tuesday.
SWC 3, Edgerton 0
EDGERTON — The Southwest Christian Eagles swept the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen in a Red Rock Conference volleyball match Thursday night.
Game scores were 25-11, 25-16 and 25-20.
Hanna Bosma led SWC (9-1, 3-1) at the net with eight kills and three blocks while Amber Pater followed with five kills and also had 11 digs.
Michaela Zeinstra and Emaleigh Vreeman led the Eagles in setting with 13 and 11 set assists, respectively.
Edgerton (3-8, 1-3) was led in hitting by Tara DeKam and Lindsey Drooger with three and two kills, respectively, while Jessica Menning had three blocks and four set assists.
Ciara Everett had seven digs for the Flying Dutchmen, who host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Tuesday.
The Eagles play in a tournament Saturday at Unity Christian.
RV 3, PA 1
REDWOOD FALLS — Amanda Haupert led the Arrows with three ace serves on a 14-for-17 service effort and added 27 digs but it wasn’t enough as Pipestone Area fell to Redwood Valley in a Southwest Conference volleyball match.
Game scores were 25-17, 20-25, 25-14 and 25-23.
Maggie Perkins paced the Arrows with 25 set assists while Taylor Kruisselbrink had 10 kills.
PA (2-11) travels to Harrisburg, S.D. for a tournament Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LAKE — Rachel Dukes was 55-for-68 on her sets with 25 set assists to lead the Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Wolverines past the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots in a Red Rock Conference match.
Janessa Peters (13-for-16 with four ace serves) and Brianna Wenner (9-for-11 with five ace serves) each had good games from the service line for the hosts.
Peters led ML/B-O (6-5-1, 1-3) in hitting with nine kills followed by Laura Romsdahl with eight kills.
The Wolverines, who host Windom Monday, also received contributions from Mikayla Falk with eight digs, Lounee Soutthivong with five digs and Haley Hamilton with four blocks.
H-BC (3-3, 2-3) was led by Paige Leuthold and Katlyn Sandbulte with four blocks each while Chelsi Kroon had seven digs and nine serve receives.
Hattie Van Wyhe was 10-for-12 at the service line for the Patriots while Haley Van Wyhe was 8-for-9.
Natalie Leuthold and Haley Van Wyhe each had four kills for H-BC, which hosts Ellsworth Tuesday.
Ellsworth 3, RL-B 0
ELLSWORTH — Abby Drenth and Emily Timmer each had good nights from the service line and at the net to lead the Ellsworth Panthers past the Round Lake-Brewster Raiders in a Red Rock Conference match.
Drenth (six kills, one block) scored nine service points on a 12-for-12 outing with five aces while Timmer (five kills, 12 digs) scored 14 points with a 19-for-20 effort with three aces.
The Panthers also received solid service efforts from Kadie Werner (13 points on 16-for-17 with one ace) and Bridget Kramer (nine points on 11-for-11).
Kramer led Ellsworth (3-5, 2-2) with 17 set assists.
RL-B (2-5, 0-4) was led by Kailey Wendland with one ace serve on a 7-for-8 effort to go with eight kills, eight digs and three blocks while Sarah Baumgard had two ace serves on a 7-for-8 outing and added eight digs, seven kills and two blocks.
Sonja Peters led the Raiders with nine digs while Zoe Baerenwald had 13 set assists.
Both teams return to action Tuesday as Ellsworth travels to Hills-Beaver Creek and RL-B hosts Southwest Star Concept.
Marshall 3, Windom 0
MARSHALL — The Windom Eagles were swept by the Marshall Tigers Thursday night in a Southwest Conference volleyball match.
Game scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-11.
The Eagles were led at the service line by Kelsey Hanefeld (four points on 6-for-7) and Hali Tasler (two points on 7-for-7 with one ace).
Holly Larson paced the Eagles at the net with five blocks and three kills while Tasler added four kills.
Other Windom contributions were from Shelby Mattson with seven set assists and Jasmine Carlson with nine digs.
The Eagles travel to Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Monday.
RRC 3, Fulda 0
FULDA — Red Rock Central senior setter Alison Kircher was a perfect 17-of-17 at the service line, including an ace, while also coming up with 16 digs and a total of 33 set assists.
Kircher’s stellar all-around performance helped RRC sweep Fulda in Red Rock Conference action.
Game scores were 25-13, 25-22 and 25-11.
Chloe Arfsten was also perfect at the line for the Falcons (7-5, 3-1), putting all 18 or her serves in play, including four which landed as aces. She also contributed at the net with 10 kills.
Leading RRC up front was Klarissa Larsen, who smacked 14 kills and had a trio of ace blocks.
Defensively, Brooke Rasmussen and Tegan Derickson came up with 13 and 10 digs, respectively.
Fulda was led at the net by Brittney Hermeling’s 10 kills, along with seven kills by Silvia Zanini.
Getting the ball to the Raider hitters was Courtney Hulstein, who put 18 set assists.
Dani Hermeling had a team-high 15 digs to lead Fulda (3-5, 1-3), while Brittney Hermeling was the Raider’s top server, scoring seven points on a 10-of-10 performance, including an ace.
Fulda travels to Pipestone Area Monday and RRC hosts Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Tuesday.
