Letter: Thanks to District 518 for Camp Invention work

I would like to thank Worthington District 518 for hosting the Camp Invention program this summer.

By: Susan Z. Clarke, Regional Coordinator for Camp Invention, Worthington Daily Globe

I would like to thank Worthington District 518 for hosting the Camp Invention program this summer. Camp Invention is tackling our country’s innovation deficit by encouraging exploration and curiosity in our youth and developing such 21st century learning skills such as creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Fifty-two local elementary students joined over 76,000 students nationwide in exciting hands-on STEM activities at Prairie Elementary School. They were challenged to solve a variety of problems using science, technology, engineering, and math concepts that they learned throughout the week. I especially want to thank camp director Jodi Hansen, her talented local teaching staff and counselors, and the creative students in Worthington for their exceptional work.
